Inflation Analysis

Our software utilizes data generated by the unit cost analysis to construct a reference project from your tender/bid records that is composed of standard watermain and sanitary sewer components. The labor, material, and equipment costs are scaled to reflect the size and materials of your reference project of interest. For example, 150mm PVC watermain pipe with one valve every 100m and one hydrant every 150m. This reference project is then used to assess how unit costs have changed over time and forecast expected values at a specified future date. The resulting inflation in your unit costs can then be compared to standard benchmarks such as the consumer price index (CPI) and the S&P Toronto Stock Exchange (S&P/TSX) index.

Our inflation analysis tool is designed to help you forecast future construction costs, or assess whether bid unit costs are comparable to historic values.
