Benchmarking Water Utilities

Our benchmarking performance indicators (BPIs) enable utilities to improve their own practices by comparing and validating their existing watermain and sanitary sewer asset management plans with other utilities.

Simulation results from the strategic asset management model are normalized relative to factors such as network length, population, and water consumption. This allows municipalities to benchmark their system against other utilities locally, regionally, and globally regardless of scale. Our BPIs help utility managers to improve their understanding of data flows, data needs, and potential information overlaps between finance, engineering and IT. Thereby, helping to identify critical data gaps so that all utility divisions can work together to achieve sustainable strategic asset management goals and objectives over the life cycle of the infrastructure.
